How to smoke a 13.5 lb Turkey
- 1 bag Mesquite wood chips or any desired wood chip flavor
- Preheat electric, wood or pellet smoker for 30 mins to an hour until 225 degrees
- Rinse Turkey, pat dry and add Kosher salt liberally to brine
- Insert electronic thermometer probe and set to 165 degrees
Smoked Turkey cook time is approximately 30 minutes per pound at 225 degrees. The ultimate time will be based on reaching an internal temperature of 165 degrees. You can take the Turkey out when 160 degrees is reached and tent with foil. The Turkey will continue to increase in temp over the next 20-30 mins. Carve, serve and enjoy with your desired fixings!
